Broward-Branch.jpgThe Broward Branch’s members generally conduct their meetings during the third week of each month. Their meetings are normally held in rotating locations throughout Broward County and begin at 6:30pm. As meeting locations and times are subject to change, check here to review specifics concerning each month’s meeting.

The current Chair of the Broward Branch is Jill Cohen. Its current standing committees and Chairs are:

The Officers of the Branch include the committee Chairs (above) and the following positions:

Past Chairs
Anyone who has served in the chief executive officer role of a business or volunteer organization appreciates the commitment of time that is put in to figuratively steer the ship safely into port.  To that end, it's with sincere thanks that we note the outstanding contributions of the past Presidents of the USGBCSF's Treasure Coast and Palm Beach Branch:

  • Hector Samario -- 2008-09

Volunteers
The Branch's leadership team and committee make-up is comprised entirely of volunteers.  Thanks solely to these unselfish individuals' dedication, passion, expertise and, very often, long hours of volunteerism, the Broward Branch is making terrific inroads in spreading the good word about green-building initiatives.  If you are interested in learning about sustainability and green building, and if you value camaraderie, teamwork and fun, email Sandra Lee and have a discussion about volunteering for our Branch.  You won't regret it!

History of Our Branch
The Broward Branch's activities range from our monthly education programs to instructive tours of green facilities (e.g., the Liberty Center at Monarch Lakes), from social networking (e.g., Facebook, and LinkedIn) to GREENworking gatherings, from helping municipalities and the Broward League of Cities with their green initiatives to co-sponsorship of green conferences and events.  The Branch has educated local government officials and CEOs about sustainability (most noteworthy, by generation of the powerful and comprehensive Broward 2030 Report), brought in high-profile speakers for important conferences, celebrated the holidays together, worked with children and educators to teach green principles, sponsored study sessions for eager students, hosted webcasts (e.g., risk and insurance issues in green development ... and much more.
